Eutopia Estates
This project involved the design of a luxurius vacation home nested on the hills of the Peloponnese.
Information
The core design principles include the harmonious integration of the building into the natural environment, ensuring the protection of both natural and built surroundings; the provision of adequate lighting conditions; energy autonomy; the organization of views; and unobstructed access to and use of the communal open spaces by users. These elements aim to promote human well-being and form an essential part of the quality of life for future residents.
Key features of the composition include the building’s geometric form, its linearity, the planted roof, the design of the communal outdoor space, and the vertical connection between levels via an elevator that serves all three floors (roof, ground floor, and basement).
The volumetric composition of the building is based on a solid, rectangular prism, positioned from the middle of the plot toward its upper boundary, in direct contact with the community road. This placement allows for more open space to be left on the side with the view and the downward slope of the terrain.
Another notable element is the bioclimatic metal pergola at the building’s entrance on the southern side, which provides shading and enables the generation of electricity. The roof is landscaped with vegetation, allowing the building to blend seamlessly with its surroundings, as it is designed to appear as a single-story structure.
